Food and Drink (Semi-self-sufficiency)

This race operates on a principle of semi-self-sufficiency. You are responsible for carrying the nutrition and hydration needed to cover the distance between aid stations.

  • Water: The course provides numerous opportunities to refill fresh, cold mountain water from natural rivers and streams. You must carry your own cup or flask to utilize these sources.

  • Aid Stations: Will supplement your nutrition with sport/electrolyte drinks, Cola, water, potato chips, chocolate, gummy candy, and oranges.

  • Finish Line: A selection of snacks and drinks will be available after you finish.

Navigation and Marking

  • Course Marking: All distances (17k, 27k, and 45k) will be marked from start to finish with orange event flags or signs.

  • GPS Recommendations: Regardless of your distance, we highly recommend importing the official GPX file to your GPS watch for additional navigation support. This is especially important for 45k runners, as flags can be moved or visibility can become extremely poor.

  • Note: Always test the file on your device well in advance. GPX files will be available for download on our website the last week before the race, and a link will be emailed to all registered participants.

Emergencies, DNF, and Assistance

  • Life-threatening emergencies: Call 113 directly. Once safe, notify the organizer immediately.

  • Minor injuries/accidents: Call the Red Cross (the number is printed on the back of your race bib).

  • DNF Registration (Drop Out): If you withdraw from the race, you must scan the QR code on the back of your bib with your phone and register as DNF.

  • No Mobile Coverage? Register your DNF as soon as you find a signal. In case of an emergency without coverage, do not leave a seriously injured person alone unless absolutely necessary. Use your mandatory whistle and survival blanket to attract attention. Ask passing runners to continue to the nearest aid station or crewed checkpoint to report the exact location and nature of the emergency. Trekking poles are allowed but may only be picked up or left at official aid stations/checkpoints.
