Accomodation

There are plenty of accommodation opportunities in the Sogndal/Kaupanger area with only a 10 minute drive to the start/finish line.

Hofslund Fjord Hotel

We highly recommend staying at Hofslund Fjord Hotel, where you can enjoy a peaceful atmosphere right on the edge of the Sognefjord. With its historic charm, friendly service, and a garden that meets the water’s edge, it’s the perfect place to recharge. After the race, you can even take a refreshing dip in the fjord or the outdoor pool.

Vesterland Feriepark

For a comfortable stay with excellent facilities, we recommend Vesterland Feriepark. Stay in cozy cabins or apartments and take advantage of their indoor pool and squash courts for the perfect pre- or post-race recovery. It is an ideal base for those who want a quiet atmosphere while staying very close to the action.

Amlasanden Fjordcamping

Stay close to the elements at Amlasanden Fjordcamping. Close by the shoreline, it’s the perfect spot to park your van or pitch a tent. The race routes pass right by the campsite, providing a front-row seat to the trail and the Sognefjord.

Transportation

There are many great options for getting to the start area of Sognefjord Trail Run. You can easily reach it by car, bus, plane, or boat from all directions -south, north, west, and east.

  • About 3.5 hours from Bergen

  • Under 2 hours from Hemsedal

  • Under 3 hours from Beitostølen and Valdres

Boat: Express boat from Bergen to Sogndal under 5 hours. LINK

Bus: You can reach Sogndal/Kaupanger by bus from every direction. LINK

  • Oslo - 6.5 hours

  • Bergen 4.5 hours

Flights: Sogndal Airport is only a 15-minute drive from the starting area. LINK

  • Bergen - Direct, 40 minutes

  • Stavanger - 1 stop, 1.45 hours

  • Trondheim - 1 stop, 2.30 hours

Getting To the Arena & Parking

  • 10 minute drive from Sogndal

  • 10 minute bus from Sogndal Centrum. NB: Make sure you search for the right date: LINK

    • For 50K runners: The bus leaves at 7:20 and arrives 07:29 just 5 minutes away from the arena

    • For other runners and spectators: The bus leaves at 9:10 and 10:10

  • Free parking is available at the arena and in Kaupanger Centrum (parking marshals will be present on race day).
